After a whirlwind romance and insiders predicting marriage, it’s now finally the end of the Ash-Abhishek romance saga according to reports doing the round. The Ash-Abhi relationship, which was under tremendous media and public scrutiny, has finally crumbled. The reason according to sources is Aishwarya’s astrological sign, which was not conducive to Abhishekh’s career.

According to sources “Abhishekh’s career has just taken off, and Ash is a ‘manglik’ (influence of planet Mars in her astrological chart). The presence of this ‘mangal’ in her chart predicts a doom for her spouse.” The sources also say “The Bachchans are very superstitious people and Amitabh Bachchan was always against the relation, even though Jaya Bachchan had only consented for her son’s happiness.”

The Bachchan’s had accepted Ash, but simply wanted her family to perform a ‘havan’ (pooja/prayer to God for special favours), at first Ash’s family had agreed, but later on changed their minds. Ash’s brother does not believe in astrology, so he advised her against it. Rumours claim this to be the main reason why the couple has split. However, whether the couple will let their families decide their fate or make their personal decisions remains to be seen.

Ash's next Hollywood film, a historical epic named ‘Singularity’, is expected to start filming from January next in India and South Africa.

The film, which has been in the works since late 1990’s, is to be produced by Corsan Productions, Belgium in partnership with Neelmudra Entertainment, India on a budget of $35 million.Reports are that the story of the film spans two continents and time periods and revolves around a British officer in colonial India in love with an Indian damsel (Ash), and an American marine biologist struggling to save his research partner who is trapped in the wreckage of a colonial Brit merchant ship.The film, to be directed by Roland Joffé, was earlier named ‘The Invaders’.

Aishwarya Rai was born in the south indian state of Karnataka in Manglore on 1st Nov 1973. She was younger of the two siblings, her brother being 3 yrs elder. When she was about 4 years old her family moved to Bombay permanatly. Her father worked as a merchant navy officer. Aishwarya did her schooling at Arya Vidya Mandir, Santacruz. Academically, she did very well and earned her position as the head girl of her school. Ash chose the science stream while at DG Ruparel College, her favorite subject being Zoology. Aishwarya wanted to do medicine, but circumstances didn't let her. Instead she chose Architecture and passed the interview at Raheja College with flying colors. By this time, Aishwarya had started getting modelling assignments. She then decided to take a break from architecture and concentrate on modelling. From that point there was no looking back. Ash became a household name with the pepsi ad campaign. She was crowned Miss Femina World and went on to win the Miss world title at Sun City in 1994. Ash had now joined the Bollywood film industry and working under many prestigious banners.
